WATCH: Texans try to showcase Watt's receiving skills

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had an opportunity to showcase his pass-catching skills in Sunday's game against the New York Jets but was unable to capitalize on a prime scoring opportunity.

Watt, who caught three touchdown passes lined up at tight end last season, lined up wide for the Texans on a second-and-goal opportunity late in the first quarter.

Houston quarterback T.J. Yates threw it up for Watt, but the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year was unable to come down with the ball with Jets safety Calvin Pryor preventing the catch.

The Texans ended up settling for a field goal on the possession.
