Watch Clayton Kershaw throw a bizarre 46-mph pitch

Clayton Kershaw debuted a new pitch during Thursday afternoon's Los Angeles Dodgers-Atlanta Braves game, and while it wasn't a strike, it did catch a lot of people off guard -- including the broadcasters. Whether it's a curveball or some sort of eephus isn't exactly clear, but it was slow -- really slow.

In fact, it didn't even register on the stadium radar gun initially. It was eventually clocked at 46 mph by MLB, which is 25 mph slower than any pitch he's thrown this season.

The hitter, Tyler Flowers, wasn't fooled, but it's safe to say he wasn't expecting to see a soft lob like that from Kershaw.

"I don't know what that was."

"Did it slip or does he now have an eephus?"

Yeah, so no one really knew what that pitch was. Care to explain, Clayton?
