Alan Page. Carl Eller. Jim Marshall. Gary Larsen. They were the "Purple People Eaters" — that vaunted Vikings defensive line of the late 1960s and 1970s with 19 Pro Bowl selections between them.

The tradition of the "Purple People Eaters" lives on in the current Vikings defensive line. Jared Allen, Pat Williams, Kevin Williams and Ray Edwards have formed their own fantastic four, terrorizing opposing offenses throughout the NFL and anchoring a defense that boasts a league-leading 31 sacks so far this season.
