Von Miller suffers dreaded torn ACL, is done for the season

Von Miller’s ugly season has gotten worse.

An MRI revealed that Miller tore his ACL during Sunday’s win against the Texans, according to FOX Sports 1’s Mike Garafolo. The injury will end Miller’s season.

The Broncos’ top pass rusher left midway through the first quarter when his knee buckled and he fell to the turf.

Miller was suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Nate Irving, a third-year linebacker from North Carolina State, will fill in during Miller’s absence. It’s a big blow as Miller was second on the team with five sacks in nine games.

While the Broncos defeated all six of their opponents during Miller’s suspension, this is especially tough because the defense is already short-handed. Defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson was placed on the team's IR in November, and defensive end Derek Wolfe has been recovering from seizure-like symptoms.
