Von Miller says there's 'no chance' he plays 2016 under franchise tag

Just a short time after saying he won't sit out the 2016 season due to his contract dispute, Von Miller has clarified on his stance on the upcoming season. The Super Bowl MVP for the Denver Broncos took to Instagram on Thursday, saying there's "no chance" he plays this season under the franchise tag.

It seems like a complete contradiction of his statement during an interview with Chelsea Handler recently.

"The franchise tag, it's a one-year deal," Miller said. "I would like a little bit more stability. I want to be a Bronco forever. I just want the feeling to be the same from the Broncos."

With his Instagram post, Miller isn't flat-out saying he'll sit out the 2016 season. It's more of a statement to the Broncos, who have been reluctant to give the stud pass rusher the contract he desires. Under the franchise tag, Miller would make $14.1 million in 2016, but he's looking to secure his long-term future.
