Vikings season tickets were ridiculously cheap in 1960

The Minnesota Vikings threw it all the way back to 1960 on Thursday, posting a picture on Twitter of a ticket order form from their inaugural season.

Tickets to an individual game at Metropolitan Stadium were five bucks each, so season tickets to all eight home games were only $40.

The $40 needed to purchase season tickets in 1960 is about $320 in today's money, according to U.S. Inflation Calculator. The median ticket price for a single Vikings home game in 2015 was $138, according to Vivid Seats, and that was in a college stadium. Prices should skyrocket once Minnesota moves into U.S. Bank Stadium next season.

Those who bought season tickets for the Vikings' first year in existence witnessed a total of three wins. They finished the season 3-11 under head coach Norm Van Brocklin; the victories came against the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Colts and Los Angeles Rams -- all at home.
