Vikings QB Ponder out with left shoulder injury
Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder has injured his left shoulder, and the Vikings have ruled him out of the rest of the game against the Washington Redskins.
Ponder was hurt late in the third quarter when he scrambled for 14 yards and dived toward the pylon, exposing his upper body to two defenders as he rolled out of bounds. The call on the field was a touchdown, but as Ponder walked off in pain in care of trainer Eric Sugarman, the replay officials reversed the ruling to give the Vikings the ball at the 1.
Matt Cassel came in for Ponder, and Adrian Peterson scored on the next play.
Ponder finished 17 for 21 for 174 yards passing, with two touchdowns and one interception.
