UPDATE: Revis, Jets trying to recruit Cromartie to return

UPDATE: The Jets have been negotiating with Antonio Cromartie, trying to bring the Pro Bowl cornerback back after a season with the Arizona Cardinals. Darrelle Revis and Cromartie played three seasons together with the Jets, making for a formidable tandem in then-coach Rex Ryan's defense.

"I'm going to get in contact with him very soon here," Revis said, "and try to convince him to hopefully come back and join our Batman-and-Robin tandem we had a couple of years ago."

The New York Jets' makeover might not be over.

Hours after bringing back Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis, the Jets are in serious discussions with free-agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Cromartie, who was cut by the Jets after the 2013 season, spent last season with the Cardinals and played under new Jets head coach Todd Bowles, who was Arizona's defensive coordinator in 2014.

Cromartie, who turns 31 next month, had a bounce-back season with the Cardinals and could team with Revis, who played with Cromartie from 2010-2012 with the Jets, to form an imposing cornerback tandem in 2015.

Cromartie has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the past three years.
