Twitter reacts to Marshawn Lynch's ... retirement?
While the football world was busy wondering if it was watching Peyton Manning ride the Broncos defense off into the sunset of retirement, another All-Pro had people wondering if he was calling it quits, himself.
But rather than face the bombardment of questions that Manning faced in the weeks leading up to Super Bowl 50 and again after the Broncos beat the Panthers 24-10, Seahawks running back -- and notorious avoider of the media spotlight -- kept everyone guessing with this one simple, cryptic tweet on Sunday:
— Shawn Lynch (@MoneyLynch) February 8, 2016
So, did Marshawn Lynch really tweet out his retirement?
While than question remains at least not entirely answered, his teammates sure seemed convinced Beast Mode is hanging ’em up:

The media reacted, as well.
If that @MoneyLynch is indeed his retirement announcement in the middle of the Super Bowl, that's the most Marshawn Lynch thing ever.

Amazing how similar the careers of Marshawn Lynch and HOF RB Earl Campbell turned out to be... pic.twitter.com/Fua5dAIYo9

It looks like Marshawn Lynch just announced his retirement on Twitter without saying a single word: https://t.co/R3yBAGNXY2

Some blamed Super Bowl 50 for Lynch’s decision.
.@NFL this game is so bad it made Marshawn Lynch quit football
