Trevor Siemian Injury Update: Broncos Quarterback Hurts Shoulder

Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian was taken to the locker room with a shoulder injury after being slammed to the ground vs Tampa Bay

Despite the plethora of jokes made at his expense, Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian has been nice to start the 2016 NFL season. Make no mistake, he’s not going to be the next Joe Montana. However, the second-year pro out of Northwestern had been doing enough to help the team to 3-0. Now the Broncos seem like they could be left in a dire situation after the events of their Week 4 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the first half against the Buccaneers, Siemian was taking some hits from the pass-rush. On one hit, the seventh-round pick from 2015 was slammed into the ground and was visibly in pain. He went to the sideline favoring his shoulder.

What’s worse is that he was then taken back to the locker room to have the shoulder injury further evaluated, taking him out of the game for the time being:

The injury to Siemian opened the door for rookie Paxton Lynch to come into the game. Lynch impressed during the preseason for the Broncos, but was deemed to need more time to develop behind Siemian. Now he’s going to be thrown into the fire.

With the recency of the injury, there is still no word as to the extent of the injury to Trevor Siemian. However, anytime that a quarterback goes to the locker room with a shoulder injury isn’t a promising sign at all. We’ll keep you updated as to what happens and any news from the Broncos about the quarterback.
