Titans Reportedly Cut QB Will Levis With Mitchell Trubisky Set To Backup Cam Ward

Will Levis' time in Nashville is over.

The fourth-year quarterback has been cut by the Tennessee Titans as they trim their roster down to 53 players, The Ringer reported Sunday. With the move, Mitchell Trubisky has fully cemented himself as the Titans' primary backup behind Cam Ward.

Levis was selected by the Titans with the first pick of the second round in the 2023 NFL Draft and showed some promise early on. He threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions to go with a rushing score in nine appearances that season. 

That allowed Levis to open the 2024 season as the Titans' starting quarterback, but he largely struggled. He went 2-10 in 12 starts that year, throwing for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also had a league-leading six fumbles and missed multiple games that season due to a shoulder injury before he was benched. 

With the Titans struggling in 2024, they landed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft and selected Ward. Levis' 2025 season ended before he could compete with Ward for the starting job, though, after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery that July.

As for this preseason, Levis completed 53.8% of his passes for 200 yards over three games.
