Titans expect Bills to come after Mariota

With the Bills headed into town this week, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt is expecting rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota to face a heavy dose of pressure from the Buffalo defense.

Mariota, who has already been sacked 12 times through the Tennessee's first three games. Now he must contend with an aggressive Bills' defense led by a head coach Rex Ryan who is known for blitzing. That raises the potential for sacks or bad decisions on the part of the quarterback.

“(Marcus) faced pressure in Cleveland and handled it in the noise, and we got pressure last week (vs. Indianapolis). When you are a rookie quarterback you are going to see pressure,’’ Whisenhunt said, per the team's official website.

"He’ll get better as he sees more and more of it. This will be a unique challenge because Buffalo gives you so many different looks. But he’s seen a lot of different looks from our defense."

Ryan indicated to reporters on Wednesday he's confident the Bills will be able contain the Heisman Trophy winner.

The Bills' defense is tied for third in the NFL with six interceptions.
