Titans bench WR Kendall Wright for missing team meetings Saturday
The Tennessee Titans aren’t exactly deep at wide receiver with their leading pass-catcher being a tight end, so being without one of their top targets against the Broncos certainly hurts. It’s even more disappointing when that player will miss the game due to poor decisions.
According to Jim Wyatt of Titansonline.com, Kendall Wright will be inactive against Denver after being tardy and missing team meetings on Saturday.
Wright has no injuries to speak of and is a healthy scratch, giving Marcus Mariota one less target to throw to against Denver’s dominant secondary. He hasn’t been the reliable threat that he was in recent years, but Wright is still a key contributor.
He’s third in terms of snaps for wide receivers and has 25 catches for 376 yards, primarily lining up in the slot.
Losing Wright won’t make or break the Titans, but it certainly doesn’t help their case in a must-win game.
