Tight end Demetrius Harris out of OTAs after foot surgery
This was supposed to be the year Demetrius Harris took a big leap forward for the Chiefs.
It's not starting so well. The basketball player-turned-tight-end reportedly needed surgery to repair the foot he broke last November.
One bit of good news? The 6-foot-7 Harris should be ready for when the team packs up for training camp in St. Joseph, MO.
Until then, Kansas City will have to make due with other projects. Fifth-round rookie James O'Shaughnessy and Richard Gordon are two named to look out for. Recently-signed tight end Ryan Taylor is another.
Anthony Fasano was a cheap, reliable No. 2 tight end. Harris has the physical traits to fill that role -- but he'll need some time to heal first.
