The Chiefs will activate LB Justin Houston, and he might even play Sunday
Kansas City Chiefs four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Justin Houston has been on the PUP list since August and hasn’t played in a game since last season’s playoffs, but both of those things could change this week.
Houston has been out since having February surgery to repair an ACL injury, but Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters Monday that the linebacker will be activated ahead of Wednesday’s deadline and that he might even play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
“He’ll let me know how he feels,” Reid told reporters.
Houston, 27, led the NFL in sacks with 22 in 2014 but was limited to 11 games by the injury before returning for two playoff games last season. He finished 2015 with 7.5 sacks, his lowest total since his 2011 rookie season.
