Terence Newman has entire Vikings secondary drinking red wine
Minnesota Vikings defensive back Terence Newman is enjoying a surprisingly strong season for a 37-year-old veteran. He has started every game at cornerback this year, except for last week when the Vikings needed him at safety.
Newman credits red wine for his longevity in the NFL.

Newman's teammates have taken note of his habit. Vikings safety Robert Blanton says the entire secondary has started drinking red wine in hopes of a longer career.
Physically I’ve been gifted to be able to play this game, I do not know what else to attribute it to. I’d say it’s my love of wine. Whether or not that’s true you’d have to do some studies. But I’m sticking to it and I’ll keep drinking red wine.

Newman's red wine of choice is Pinot Noir, according to the report. He usually goes to safety Harrison Smith's house to watch Monday Night Football, and they enjoy a glass together.
Newman is a vet, he’s been in the league so long and young guys are sitting there saying: ‘He’s been in the league this long because of the red wine.' Now everyone’s drinking it.
