Teddy Bridgewater suffers torn ACL, dislocated kneecap at practice

Minnesota Vikings practice was cut short on Tuesday when quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with an apparent non-contact leg injury.

According to Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Bridgewater went down in the pocket, clutching his left knee. Players realized the seriousness of the injury and immediately began praying and swearing.

The team said in a statement late Tuesday that Bridgewater suffered a dislocated kneecap and an MRI revealed that he also torn his ACL.

Bridgewater was poised for a big year in 2016 and if he were to miss the entire season, it’d be a huge blow to the Vikings’ playoff hopes – and more importantly, their Super Bowl chances. In two preseason games, he had completed 78.3 percent of his passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns while he didn’t commit a single turnover.

Shaun Hill would be Bridgewater’s likely replacement and is currently the second-string quarterback.
