T.J. Ward is setting the bar ridiculously high for the Broncos' defense

Few will dispute the notion that the Denver Broncos' defense carried the team to a Super Bowl title last season. But can it get even better, and where does it rank among the all-time best units?

According to Broncos safety T.J. Ward, the sky's the limit for the D.

"There is no ceiling," Ward told The Denver Post. "We can be as good as we want to be. We can become the best defense of all time. That's what we're working toward."

Re-upping with Super Bowl MVP Von Miller will help, though the defense suffered a couple of offseason losses with the free-agent departures of linebacker Danny Trevathan and defensive end Malik Jackson.

Last season, the Broncos ranked first in total defense (283.1 yards per game) and sacks (52), and fourth in points allowed (296).
