Suspicious Jimmy Garoppolo Instagram post suggests he’s leaving New England
It appeared early Friday morning that Jimmy Garoppolo was on the move.
But it isn't totally clear.
The New England Patriots backup quarterback has been the object of much trade speculation this offseason, and early Friday morning a photo posted to his Instagram seemed to confirm he was on his way out.
The caption read: "So grateful for my time in New England. Peace out Boston."
But a report from ProFootballTalk suggested that this was possibly a hoax, as people close to Garoppolo doubted he would be on the social media platform at four in the morning.

Other NFL insiders also suspected his account had potentially been hacked.

The post was the first to Garoppolo's account in six days and second since the Super Bowl.
The Patriots have not confirmed a trade.
Reports are circulating that the Browns are the team interested in Garoppolo, and that their acquisition of Brock Osweiler and his large salary from the Texans was done at least in part to acquire an additional draft pick in order to acquire Garoppolo.
Garoppolo, a three year pro out of Eastern Illinois, won two Super Bowls with the Patriots as a backup. He started two games in the 2016 season during Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension before being injured and replaced by Jacoby Brisset before Brady's return. In his NFL career he's completed 68% of his passes for 502 yards, with five touchdowns and zero interceptions.
