Steelers sign draft picks Gibson and Worthington

Former Ohio State teammates Thaddeus Gibson and Doug Worthington have become the first two Pittsburgh Steelers draft picks to reach contract terms.

Gibson, an outside linebacker and a fourth-round pick, and Worthington, a defensive end who was a seventh-round pick, each signed three-year contracts.

The Steelers are converting Gibson from defensive end to linebacker. He could not take part in the Steelers' voluntary workouts that began in April because his Ohio State class had yet to graduate, although he attended a three-day minicamp.

The Steelers have eight unsigned draft picks.
