Steelers safety Ventrone in walking boot after getting carted off at practice

Steelers safety Ross Ventrone was seen wearing a walking boot after getting carted off at the tail end Monday's practice.

The team has yet to offer an official diagnosis on the injury, but an update could come Wednesday when the team reconvenes for its first full contact practice.. Ventone was injured when rookie receiver Eli Rogers landed on Ventrone's leg while diving for a pass. Rookie tight end Cameron Clear also exited practice earlier with heat-related symptoms.

Ventrone played in nine games last season as a special teams contributor.
