Steelers' Roethlisberger practices fully with new facemask

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was a full participant in practice Wednesday with some new headgear to boot.

There had been confusion about whether Roethlisberger suffered a concussion, but he was in the league's protocol before passing his tests Wednesday morning.

Receiver Antonio Brown said that Roethlisberger was sporting a new facemask, which was bent backward from the hit by Seattle's Michael Bennett that apparently caused the concussion.

"Looked pretty good to me," Brown said of Roethlisberger via ESPN.com. "He’s got a new facemask. He’s excited to go out and play."

The Steelers host the Colts on Sunday night with both teams at 6-5 and fighting for playoff contention. Roethlisberger racked up 522 passing yards and six touchdowns in last year's meeting between the two teams. Indianapolis is expected to be without its starting quarterback Andrew Luck due to a lacerated kidney.
