Source: Texans hire Jets offensive line coach Devlin for same position

The Houston Texans wasted little time hiring a new offensive line coach.

A source told FOX Sports that Mike Devlin will be leaving that same position with the New York Jets for the Texans.

Devlin was New York's longest-tenured assistant, having joined the Jets in 2006 as tight ends coach. He shifted to offensive line coach in 2013.

Devlin became available when the Jets fired head coach Rex Ryan at the end of the 2014 season.

Devlin, 45, was an NFL offensive lineman for seven seasons with Buffalo (1993-1995) and Arizona (1996-1999).

Devlin replaces Paul Dunn, who was fired Thursday after one season working for Texans head coach Bill O'Brien. Dunn had coached the previous six years in Atlanta.
