Source: Oregon RB De'Anthony Thomas to meet with Bears
The Bears allowed return man Devin Hester to walk in free agency this offseason. They could have their eye on a potential replacement.
Former Oregon running back De’Anthony Thomas will meet with the Bears in Chicago, a source tells FOXSports.com.
Thomas, who ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day last month, is one of the most explosive playmakers in this year’s draft class.
Thomas also worked out for the Falcons two weeks ago, according to the source.
During a three-year career at Oregon, Thomas rushed for 1,801 yards, averaging 7.7 yards a carry with 26 touchdowns. He was also a factor in the passing game with 113 receptions for 1,296 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Thomas also has another dimension to his game as he excels as a punt and kick returner. With four returns for touchdowns, Thomas averaged 25.8 yards per kick return and 17.1 yards per punt return.
