Source: Nick Foles likely out for remainder of regular season
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is unlikely to play before the end of the regular season, a source has informed FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.
Foles has been out of the lineup since fracturing his collarbone in a Nov. 2 game against the Houston Texans. Eagles head coach Chip Kelly told reporters on Monday that Foles would be unavailable for the team's game against the Washington Redskins on Saturday. Doctors examined Foles' collarbone and said that the injury had not completely healed.
"He'll start throwing a little bit more, but he's out for right now. He's not cleared and will not play this week," Kelly told ESPN. "Until he gets fully healed, he's not going to be able to play with it. We think he'll be able to throw a little more this week, but we can't have anyone near him with contact."
