Smith inducted into Broncos' Ring of Fame

The Denver Broncos honored Rod Smith in a halftime ceremony Sunday, inducting the undrafted wide receiver into the team's Ring of Fame.

Smith became the 23rd member of the Broncos to have his name etched into the inner facade encircling Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The crowd gave him a standing ovation when his name was unveiled.

There was a video tribute to Smith in which former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan talked about the attributes of Smith, who was an unheralded wideout out of Missouri Southern and went on to set every major receiving record in franchise history.

Smith guided Denver to seven postseason appearances, three AFC West crowns and two Super Bowl titles. His last season was 2006 as an aching hip forced him to the sideline.
