Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin arrested, faces drug, public intoxication charges

Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested Monday after a car he was a passenger in crashed into a Dallas bar and injured five people.

According to FOX 4 in Dallas, police suspect the driver of the car, Shabrika Baley, 26, was drunk when she pulled out of a parking garage and backed into the front of the Sidebar Bar at about 2 a.m. CT.

Four people on the sidewalk and the bartender inside the club were hurt, and three of them were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Boykin, 23, remains in custody as of Monday morning, facing drug possession and public intoxication charges.

Boykin had a decorated college career at TCU but went undrafted in 2016 after he punched a police officer during a bar fight following his senior year. He pled no contest to a charge of resisting arrest and was sentenced to a year of probation.

 

Boykin signed a three-year contract with the Seahawks in 2016 and appeared in six games as Russell Wilson’s backup during his rookie season, completing 13 of 18 passes for 145 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
