Seahawks' Jackson addresses team after police close investigation

Police closed the books on Tuesday's one-car accident involving Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson.

“There is nothing further," Renton (Wash.) police spokesman David Leibman wrote in an email to the Seattle Times. "If anything, he will receive a ticket for inattention, a minor infraction.”

The one-car crash went viral on Twitter after TMZ reported that Jackson crashed into a pole while drag-racing teammate Marshawn Lynch just outside team headquarters. Renton police issued a statement later Tuesday labeling the report as "false" and said there was no evidence that another vehicle was involved.

Jackson, who was uninjured in the accident, addressed his teammates about the incident on Wednesday and will play in Thursday night's road game against the San Francisco 49ers, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. 

“Just very fortunate nobody was hurt,” Carroll told reporters, “and we’re lucky in that regard.”
