Sammy Watkins day-to-day, 'certainly a possibility' he misses Week 4
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a calf injury and did not return. Rex Ryan said the injury was a "big concern," but an MRI on Monday gave the Bills a bit of good news.
Watkins was diagnosed with a mild calf strain and is considered day-to-day, which is far better than it could have been.
With Watkins listed as day-to-day, there's still a chance he won't be able to play in Week 4. Ryan said on Monday that "It's certainly a possibility that [he] won't be able to play," according to Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.
Watkins recorded just one catch for 39 yards before exiting the game, but the Bills' offense was just fine without him. They put up 41 points against the Miami Dolphins as Tyrod Taylor posted the best Total QBR in Bills history. Watkins' absence is a big blow, but the offense has proved they can survive without him.
