Sam Bradford says he expects to play against Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles might have their starter back under center Sunday in Foxboro.

Eagles starting quarterback Sam Bradford told reporters he expects to make his return Sunday against the New England Patriots after missing two weeks with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

“Barring any setbacks, I expect to (start),” Bradford told reporters, per Philly.com. “But at the end of the day, that’s going to be up to coach and the training staff, if they feel I’m ready to go out there and play at a high level.”

Bradford has sat out the last two weeks with a shoulder injury, giving way to backup and former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. Bradford returned to practice Tuesday, a day after Eagles head coach Chip Kelly declared Bradford would start, if healthy.

Bradford struggled in the first few weeks of the season but had started to turn the corner some, especially in the two weeks before suffering the injury. Bradford completed 72 percent of his passes for 531 yards and two touchdown passes in games against Dallas and Miami on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15.

On the season, Bradford has completed 63.9 percent of his passes with 11 touchdown passes, 10 interceptions and a passer rating of 82.4.
