Ryan Tannehill Threw the Worst 'Pass' of 2016 (Video)

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill just earned the 2016 dishonor of throwing the worst pass you’ll see all season.

Just two weeks ago, everyone seemed to be hopping on the Ryan Tannehill train. The Miami Dolphins quarterback has long been labeled as “full of potential,” but had never realized it. As the Dolphins went on a bit of a winning streak, though, Tannehill looked fantastic. Then game last week against the Baltimore Ravens when he was shut down. He then followed that up in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals by throwing the worst pass you’ll see in the 2016 season.

It was only supposed to be a simple screen pass. Take a couple of steps back, turn to the left, and loft one out toward the sidelines to make your receiver do some work and make a play. On a rainy day in Miami, though, what happened was far from that.

Tannehill dropped back quickly and turned to make that easy throw, but he botched the throw itself tremendously. The ball floats out of his hand a few yards shy of his intended receiver in terms of the throw’s length and also a few yards behind him in terms of accuracy. It’s truly a sight to behold as a throw this bad in this situation doesn’t seem possible:

Perhaps the worst part of all of this is that the play started in shotgun. Thus, Tannehill wasn’t worried about an immediate pass rush or anything. No, he was by himself with time and he just muffed the throw, which I didn’t know was possible to this extent.

And before you go blaming on the conditions, which admittedly caused five first-quarter turnovers, even a slick ball isn’t an excuse for that throw. The only thing that explains what happened here is a demon temporarily taking over his bad and causing him to convulse-throw the way he did. Other than that, this is just downright putrid.
