Ryan: RB LeSean McCoy will be 'ready to roll' in Week 1
As the regular season opener nears, several Buffalo Bills players are racing to get healthy in time for Week 1. One of those players is star running back LeSean McCoy, who's been limited with a hamstring injury since mid-August.
McCoy has vowed that he'll be ready for the season opener, but his word alone isn't enough to ease fans' worries. On Wednesday, head coach Rex Ryan provided an update on McCoy's status.
"I think he's gonna be ready to roll," Ryan told reporters via ESPN's Mike Rodak. "We'll see how he progresses during the week. But he's practicing in full. So he'll be ready."
Hearing that he'll be practicing in full is a good sign for his availability against the Colts on Sunday. He hasn't played in a game since the preseason opener, but he's not a player that needs much time to get up to speed. The Bills are a completely different offense with McCoy on the field.
"It's not ideal, but this dude can play," Ryan said. "I've seen it on the practice field. I'm not concerned, recognizing that we haven't necessarily seen as much as work at all of the skill positions."
Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and Percy Harvin are also expected to be ready for Week 1, as Ryan stated on Wednesday.
