Ryan Fitzpatrick sets Jets single-season TD record
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick may not be the MVP of the NFL, but he's arguably been the team's most important player this season -- his first with the franchise.
On Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Fitzpatrick set a new franchise record for the most touchdown passes in a single season. He found Brandon Marshall in the back of the end zone in the second quarter for his 30th of the season, breaking Vinny Testaverde's previous record (29).
With that touchdown, Fitzpatrick solidified his place in the Jets record book. Now all he needs to do to cap off his outstanding season is get New York to the playoffs. He can do so with a win over the Bills on Sunday.
To go along with Fitzpatrick's record, Marshall also tied the franchise mark for most touchdown receptions in a season with his 14th of the year.
