Ryan Fitzpatrick jabbed Larry David about his coaching aspirations at Jets practice

After the 2014 NFL season, Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm actor-creator Larry David appeared on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show where he declared his fitness to call plays for an NFL offense.

"I think with a little studying, I could be a tremendous offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator," David said in January 2015. "I see many things that I know I can fix."

David's faith in his coordinating potential is steadfast. During a recent appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, David, a Jets fan, reiterated his confidence.

"I'm not joking. I'm positive that I could be an offensive coordinator," David said. "I think if I just studied, if I just hung around, and just learned a little bit. Give me one season shadowing an offensive coordinator - one season - and I know I can do it. What could be so hard about it? You make up plays. Why is that so hard? I'm creative, in certain respects, and I think I could do that."

On Wednesday the comedian and Bernie Sanders impersonator actually visited Jets practice and chatted with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (who David has petitioned to trim his beard) when Fitzpatrick landed a solid jab about David's bold claim. David asked him about his cameo on The League,  which gave Fitzpatrick a window.

“I said it’s a lot like a normal person thinking they can come in and be an offensive coordinator,” Fitzpatrick cracked, per the New York Post.

“I actually got him to chuckle, which was great" Fitzpatrick added. "That was my goal for the day. That was pretty cool. I loved that show [Seinfeld] growing up and even still. It was great meeting someone so creative.”

David's idea about walking in and coordinating sounds fairly crazy, but then again, Tennessee Titans fans recently called two plays for a preseason game that went for a combined 46 yards. So, maybe?
