Russell Wilson's shout-out hits home with child battling cancer

Amid the circus atmosphere of media day, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson provided a sweet moment on Tuesday.

Wilson sent a shout-out to those at Seattle Children's Hospital, where the quarterback volunteers every Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, I had to miss today," Wilson said. "I'm just praying for you guys and praying for miracles. Keep the faith and stay strong against cancer."

There was one fan who received the message and it made her day, according to KING 5.

Maria Moore was watching TV in her hospital room, which featured all sorts of Seahawks merchandise, including a football autographed by Wilson, as she watched the message Wilson sent through KING 5.

"That was awesome," she exclaimed as the message from Wilson ended, a large smile forming on her face.

While the message was great, the day was made sweeter because Maria Moore was going home from Seattle Children's after battling cancer for months.

The staff at the hospital joined in the Seattle fervor in Wilson's absence. They passed out team gear and everyone cheered as the 12th Man flag was raised.
