Russell Wilson on contract: 'Just let my play speak for itself'

Russell Wilson was interviewed on Monday night by ESPN and discussed the ongoing contract negotiations with the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson was asked how much he thought he deserved and replied with: "I don't know. How much would you pay me?"

He then went on to say: "I think ultimately, it comes down to the play. Just let my play speak for itself. ... No matter if it's $25 million or if it's $1.5 million -- I'll be ready to go."

Shortly after the interview, Wilson sent out this tweet.

Wilson would like to be the highest paid player in the game, but whether that happens or not, it does not seem like he is considering any kind of holdout.

He finished the interview with his desire to stay in Seattle.

"I trust the process of it all. I'm going to do everything I can to put the work in and let the rest speak for itself."
