Rookie Hau'oli Kikaha loves the idea of playing special teams
The New Orleans Saints are hoping they got an all-around player when they drafted Hau'oli Kikaha. Apparently, Kikaha wants to be an all-around player, in quite a few ways.
According to a Katherine Terrell of NOLA.com, Kikaha thinks the idea of playing special teams would be "awesome."
"I would love to do it. I mean, any opportunity to get on the field, and especially the kicking game, the coverage team, that's awesome," Kikaha told NOLA.com. "Running down the field full speed and getting to hit someone. I never get a chance to hit anybody! It's always within five yards, four yards."
"Full speed, hitting someone, that's an exciting thing. But then you have to be aware of getting knocked out yourself so it's kind of an adrenaline rush. I'm pretty excited about it."
Well, there you have it. Kikaha may have been one of the best players in college football at rushing the passer in 2014, but he's ready and willing to be a part of the special teams unit.
