Roddy White in search of a bigger role in Atlanta's offense
It goes without saying that we've seen Roddy White's workload reduce quite a bit this season. While it may be due to the strong run game featuring Devonta Freeman, or the increased looks for Julio Jones, White simply isn't getting the looks he's used to receiving.
According to Michael Cunningham of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, White's hoping that changes sooner than later, but understands the way it goes.
“I would like to be more involved in the offense but it is what it is,” White told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I’m going to go out there and run the plays that are called and block as hard as I can and help my team win.”
While he's made it obvious that he wants to be more involved, Cunningham reports that the veteran receiver does believe that his time will come to shine once again.
“I feel like they will come eventually,” White said. “It’s a long season, man. We’ve got seven more games. Things could turn around instantly from week to week. I’m very optimistic that it will and I will continue to go at it and work as hard as I can.”
White's still a player to watch for, even at the age of 34, and we should fully expect to see him get more looks, especially if the Falcons are looking to change things up after the bye week.
