Reports: Broncos' Paxton Lynch will start for injured Trevor Siemian

Broncos rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch will start Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons in place of the injured Trevor Siemian, Mike Klis of 9News reports.

Siemian sprained the AC joint in his left non-throwing shoulder in Denver’s 27–7 win over Tampa Bay last week, and was listed as “questionable” on the team’s injury report Friday. The second-year pro has started the first four games under center for the reigning Super Bowl champions, completing 67.3% of his passes for 824 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions.

Lynch, a first-round pick out of Memphis in this year’s NFL draft, will make his first career start. The 22-year-old was 14 of 24 for 170 yards and a touchdown in place of Siemian last week.
