Report: Tony Romo believes he can play for four more years

Tony Romo is going to turn 36 in April, and you'd think once you get toward the tail end of your football career, you'd start to think about what the next step is in life.

But that's not the case for Romo. He explained to Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal that he plans on continuing his career as an NFL quarterback for four more seasons.

In "The Bill Simmons Podcast", Simmons and Cousin Sal had a brief conversation about Romo's career after football. Per SportsDayDFW.com:

Who knows? Maybe Romo can last that long in the NFL. After all, he practically missed the entire season this year, and that should help improve his longevity.

And when Romo is in the lineup, he has looked pretty strong. In 2014, Romo finished with 3,705 yards, with 34 touchdown passes and nine interceptions. He also set a single-season career high with a 69.9 completion percentage.

Romo is signed with the Cowboys for four more seasons, so he may very well play out the remainder of that contract. He'll be 40 on the last year of that deal.

This season also showed just how important Romo is to the Cowboys. With Romo in the lineup, the Cowboys went 3-1. But without Romo, Dallas' offense was absolutely pathetic, and the team was able to win just a single game without him. So the Cowboys simply need to address their quarterback situation, even if it is just nabbing a quarterback of the future this season.
