Report: Tim Tebow confident Eagles coach will find a role for him

Quarterback Tim Tebow still has a long road ahead of him in his quest to earn a roster spot with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he remains confident that head coach Chip Kelly is the guy to get him there.

"I think he's the kind of coach who plays to a player's strengths,'' Tebow said of Kelly, per True Jersey. "And not just the quarterbacks, but every player. He gets the most out of each player.''

Tebow will compete with third year quarterback Matt Barkley for the Eagles' third quarterback spot. Not every NFL team carries three quarterbacks on the roster, but this is something that Kelly has done every season with the Eagles. Tebow is thrilled to be a part of a unique offense.

"I love this offense,'' Tebow said. "I love (Kelly's) innovations. He's changed how's the game been played.''

It's not surprising that Tebow is excited to play under Kelly. A traditional offense limits some of the upside that Tebow brings to the table as a quarterback. Tebow will cling to the idea that Kelly's nontraditional offense can bring out he best in him. While that may be true, it still might not be enough for Kelly to view Tebow as a legitimate option as the third quarterback. Tebow will need to improve his mechanics and prove that he is capable of consistently throwing the football.
