Report: Suspended Browns WR Josh Gordon is out of rehab

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon checked himself into a rehab facility for alcohol-related issues back in late-September, but his stay has reportedly ended.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and USA Today, Gordon has left the rehabilitation facility after a 30-day stay. This is obviously good news for the receiver, who’s reportedly doing “a lot better,” but he remains suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Now that he’s gone through treatment and is out of rehab, he and the Browns will await the league’s ruling on his suspension. There’s a chance he’ll be reinstated and have his ban lifted, which would make him available for trade should the Browns opt to go that route.

For the moment, however, he’ll remain suspended until further notice from the league. Given the timing, it’s unlikely he’s reinstated before Tuesday’s trade deadline, thus making it probable that he’ll remain with the Browns for the remainder of the season – whether he plays or not.
