Report: Shuler says RG3 must win
Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) had some advice for Robert Griffin III Thursday, telling Politico the quarterback had better win or he will get a frosty reception in Washington, D.C.
"You have to win," said the three-term congressman, a former football player himself who knows a thing or two about losing in the nation's capital.
Shuler, drafted No. 3 overall by the Redskins in the 1994 NFL Draft, never lived up to his star billing and was shipped out of D.C., after just three seasons.
"There's only one thing you have to do in this city: You have to win," Shuler told Politico. "If not, you're done."
The 22-year-old Griffin, who won the Heisman Trophy at Baylor, was chosen No. 2 overall by the Redskins in Thursday night's first round of the NFL draft.
