Report: Russell Wilson wants to be highest paid player in NFL

The ongoing contract negotiations between Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks feels like it will never end. Both sides have been optimistic a deal will get done before training camp, but now that new information is coming out, that does not seem as likely.

According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, Wilson's "contract demands have exceeded the five-year, $110 million deal that Aaron Rodgers signed with the Green Bay Packers". If Wilson does get a deal bigger than Rodgers, it would make him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Cole reported that he talked to Wilson's agent Mark Rodgers about potentially being the highest paid player in the NFL and Rodgers "did not dispute it in any way."

It is hard to argue the facts with Wilson. In just three seasons, he has gone to the playoffs all three times and the Super Bowl twice, winning once. He is one of the premiers quarterbacks in the NFL. Whether the Seahawks believe he is worth the most money in the NFL remains to be seen.
