Report: Redskins sign tight end Alex Smith

The Washington Redskins have signed 33-year-old tight end Alex Smith.

Derek Carrier tore his ACL and MCL on Sunday, Washington was forced to sign another tight end.

Smith has 10 years of NFL experience. He played 58 games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 29 games with the Cleveland Browns, 18 with the Cincinnati Bengals and 16 with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Smith has 163 career receptions for 1,473 yards and 13 touchdowns.
