Report: Raiders set to sign free-agent safety Taylor Mays

The Raiders bolstered their secondary by adding a hard-hitting safety from Southern Cal.

Six-year veteran Taylor Mays will sport the Silver and Black this season, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Mays played in all 16 games for the Bengals last season, but has bounced around the league since. He was released from the Detroit Lions last week after his release from the Minnesota Vikings in May.

The Raiders must think they can right Mays' career. They'll do so with prior experience with the player; defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. coached Mays during their time together at USC.
