Report: Patriots WR Julian Edelman cleared to play vs. Chiefs in NFL playoffs

With the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense healthy and firing on all cylinders, the New England Patriots know they have a zero-percent chance of winning Saturday’s Divisional-Round game if they do what the Houston Texans did against KC in the Wild Card Round: Fail to score a point.

According to a report out of Boston on Sunday, Tom Brady & Co. got some good news toward that goal, as the Patriots expect receiver Julian Edelman to suit up.

Edelman missed the final seven games of the regular season after breaking his foot against the Giants on Nov. 15. Before going down, the 29-year-old had 61 catches for 692 yards and seven touchdowns in essentially half a season.

New England hosts Kansas City at 4:35 p.m. ET on Saturday in the weekend’s first game.
