Report: Panthers play nice, replace banner Cam Newton tore down

When Cam Newton tore down the Green Bay Packers banner that was created by a Packers fan named Mike Dobs, he probably didn't think too much of it.

Well, it wound up being a big deal, so much so that it was reported that the Panthers would replace Dobs' banner, after he demanded a new one.

According to David Newton of ESPN, the Panthers have done just that, as they've created another banner that read "North Carolina Cheeseheads," and sent it to the Packers fan.

While it was nice of the team to reportedly replace the banner that Newton tore down, they apparently didn't have to do so. The banner and flag policy on Panthers.com states the fan was actually not allowed to hang his banner.

“No banners or flags expressing support of visiting teams may be affixed to or displayed on any surface. Hand held signs or posters that are in compliance with the balance of this policy are acceptable.”

All's well that ends well, right? At least we can now put this story to bed.
