Report: Mike Evans worked out with one of the top receivers in history

Mike Evans made a name for himself as a rookie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What he can do in year two has been a talking point for Bucs fans this offseason. Apparently, though, he spent some time working with one of the best to ever play wide receiver in the NFL, according to Jose Martinez of The Pewter Plank.

“After the Washington Redskins game last year I did an interview with FOX Sports, who he (Moss) worked for,” Evans told Joe Kania of Buccaneers.com. “I told him that I watched a documentary on him before we played Washington and I did his touchdown celebration. He hit me up on Twitter, he followed me and I followed him back. A couple months later he hit me up again and I couldn’t say no, so I went up there and worked out with him for a week.”

Martinez continued by stating that the workout came at the end of March, and that Evans worked out with Moss for “about a week” in North Carolina. Best of all, Evans gave some rave reviews about Moss and his ability to still play at a high level.

“He’s still just as explosive as he always was,” Evans said. “We were doing drills and I couldn’t catch him running around the cones.”
