Report: Manning will miss start of camp

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning will miss the start of training camp once the lockout ends, according to an Indianapolis Star report.

Manning, who is recovering from neck surgery, won’t be ready for camp and could be sidelined for a couple of weeks or more, according to a source cited by the paper.

A timetable for his rehabilitation likely won't be determined until Manning meets with the Colts’ medical staff, which he hasn’t been able to do because of the lockout.

Manning had surgery in May to relieve pain from a disk-related issue, a procedure that usually has a six- to eight-week recovery period, according to the report. It’s been nearly 10 weeks since Manning had the surgery.
